  • FLUX Account: A unified account used to sign in to FLUX Services, including (as applicable) Beam Studio paid/online-supported features, the Shop, and Design Market.
  • Personal Data: Information that identifies or can reasonably be used to identify an individual.
  • Usage Data: Data collected automatically when using the Services (e.g., device information, diagnostics, crash reports).
  • Beam Studio Work Files (“Work Files”): Project/design files and related project information you create or import in Beam Studio.

  • Service Providers / Subprocessors: Third parties we use to help us provide and operate the Services (e.g., crash reporting, payment processing, AI processing, and sign-in verification).
We may use the following third parties to process certain information on our behalf to provide the Services. Each provider is engaged only as necessary and is subject to contractual obligations to protect data.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect information only as necessary to provide, maintain, and improve the Services. The types of information we collect depend on how you use the Services.

2.1 Information You Provide

(a) FLUX account and sign-in information (as applicable)
  • Email address (used as an account identifier). Providing your email is necessary to create an account; if you do not provide it, we cannot offer you account-based features.
  • Password (stored securely, e.g., hashed; we do not store passwords in plain text)
  • Third-party sign-in authorization information (see Section 3)
  • Any additional profile information you choose to provide (e.g., name/nickname)
(b) Purchases, top-ups, and transaction information (as applicable)
  • Order ID, items purchased or services used, amount, timestamp, payment status, refund/cancellation status, and wallet/credit balance changes
  • We do not store full payment card numbers or similarly sensitive payment data (this is typically handled by payment processors)
(c) Shipping and billing information (Shop context, as applicable)
  • Recipient name, phone number, shipping address, and invoicing/billing information (if provided and necessary for delivery or legal/accounting purposes)
(d) Customer support and communications
  • Information you provide when contacting support, such as your email address, message content, attachments, screenshots, and issue descriptions

2.2 Information Collected Automatically (Usage Data)

Depending on the Service, Usage Data may include:
  • IP address, browser type/version, language, and time zone (website/Shop/Design Market context)
  • Device model, operating system version, app version, feature usage states, diagnostics, crash reports, and error stack traces (Beam Studio software context)

2.3 Content and Cloud Features (By Service)

(a) Beam Studio Work Files (Optional Cloud Storage; Not Enabled by Default)
  • Beam Studio offers an optional cloud storage feature that allows you to upload and store Work Files in the cloud for access or management across devices.
  • This cloud storage feature is not enabled by default; whether you use it is your choice.
  • If you enable cloud storage, we process and store your Work Files and related information as necessary to provide the feature.
(b) Design Market Assets (Purchased/Downloaded/Uploaded Assets)
  • Design Market processes and stores information related to your activities on Design Market, such as Assets you purchase or download, Assets you upload (if applicable), and necessary information related to those activities (e.g., license/purchase records, download records, upload information).
  • Assets you upload to Design Market may include third-party copyrighted materials; FLUX will process and store such Assets only as necessary to provide Design Market services (e.g., listing, downloading, licensing, and management).
  • Design Market’s data processing and storage are intended to support asset purchasing, downloading, license management, and uploading features, and are different in nature from Beam Studio Work File cloud storage.

3. ACCOUNT REQUIREMENTS AND SIGN-IN (FLUX ACCOUNT)

3.1 Which Services Require Sign-In?

  • Shop and Design Market: Generally require signing in with a FLUX Account to complete purchases, downloads, order management, or to upload/manage Assets.
  • Beam Studio: Most features can be used without signing in. We require sign-in only when you use paid or online-supported features such as AI Create, Elements, and AI Background Removal, because these features involve top-ups/credits and transaction records.

3.2 Third-Party Sign-In (Google / Facebook)

If you choose to sign in using Google or Facebook, we will receive certain basic account information from that provider based on the permissions you grant (commonly including a provider-specific identifier, name/nickname, email address, and profile image URL). The exact information depends on the authorization screen and your settings with that provider. We use this information to create or link your FLUX Account and authenticate your sign-in.

4. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We process your Personal Data based on the following legal bases under the GDPR:
  • Contractual Necessity: To provide the Services you requested (e.g., account management, order fulfillment).
  • Legitimate Interests: To improve our products, ensure security, and for internal analysis, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent: Where you have given clear permission (e.g., for diagnostic data or optional marketing).
  • Legal Obligation: To comply with tax, accounting, or law enforcement requirements.
We use information for the following purposes:
  • To provide and operate the Services, including account sign-in, order processing, shipping and delivery, Design Market purchases/downloads/licensing/uploads management, Beam Studio cloud storage (if you enable it), top-ups/credit usage, feature delivery, downloads, and customer support
  • To troubleshoot and improve stability and user experience, such as analyzing crashes and fixing bugs
  • To communicate with you, including service notices, feature or policy updates, and support responses
  • To comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes, including accounting/tax requirements and lawful requests
  • Service security and integrity (as applicable): We may use necessary access or security-related records for service maintenance, troubleshooting, and risk reduction. This is a general description and does not represent a commitment to any specific detection mechanism.

5. AI FEATURES AND PROCESSING (REPLICATE)

When you use AI features such as AI Create or AI Background Removal, we may need to transmit the necessary input data (for example, text prompts, images/files you submit, and technical metadata related to the request) to a third-party AI platform to generate and return results. Our current third-party AI platform includes Replicate.

6. DIAGNOSTICS AND CRASH REPORTING (SENTRY) AND YOUR CHOICE

To improve software stability and debugging efficiency, Beam Studio may use a third-party error tracking service (such as Sentry) to receive crash reports and error events. These reports may include device and OS information, app version, error stack traces, timestamps, and related diagnostic data; they may also include network identifiers such as IP address.
Your choice: After installation, Beam Studio will ask whether you agree to share diagnostic data. If you decline, you can still use the software and the machine. You can also change this setting at any time in Preferences.

7. DATA OWNERSHIP

  • You (or your institution/school, where applicable) own your Work Files and Assets.
  • FLUX owns the Services and underlying software and systems.
  • You grant FLUX a limited license to process your information and content as necessary to provide, maintain, and improve the Services, including:
    • storing Work Files in the cloud if you enable Beam Studio cloud storage;
    • processing and storing Assets and related information to provide Design Market purchasing, downloading, licensing, and upload features; and
    • transmitting necessary data to third-party providers to deliver AI features and return results.

8. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We do not sell your Personal Data.
We may share information only as necessary in the following situations:
  • With Service Providers / Subprocessors (e.g., crash reporting, payment processing, AI processing, and sign-in verification), as listed in Appendix A
  • For legal compliance (e.g., lawful requests, court orders)
  • Business transactions (e.g., merger, acquisition, asset transfer), where notice will be provided when required
  • Rights protection (e.g., to address disputes or prevent misuse, within a necessary scope)

8.1 Notice of Material Provider Changes

If there is a material change to our key Service Providers, we may provide notice by updating this Privacy Policy, posting a notice, or using other reasonable methods, subject to applicable legal or contractual requirements.

9. ADVERTISING AND TRACKING

Beam Studio does not display third-party advertisements and we do not use Personal Data, content, or in-product behavior (including students’ data) for targeted advertising. We do not permit third-party advertising networks to track users within Beam Studio for advertising purposes.

10. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES (WEBSITE / SHOP / DESIGN MARKET)

Our websites, Shop, and Design Market may use cookies or similar technologies to provide essential functionality, remember your preferences, and improve your user experience. You can opt in to cookies by clicking Accept Cookies on our webpages. If cookies are not enabled, some features may not work properly.

11. SECURITY

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed 100% secure.

11.1 Strong Password Rules

  • Don’t use your name or email in the password.
  • Use at least 8 characters.
  • Use at least 1 number, 1 lowercase letter, and 1 capital letter.

11.2 Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

We do not currently provide multi-factor authentication (MFA). We continue to evaluate additional protections to enhance account security.

12. DATA RETENTION

We retain Personal Data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, and we delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, unless retention is required by law, dispute resolution, or security needs.
For transparency, our typical retention ranges are:
  • Account data (email, account ID, sign-in records): retained while the account is active; deleted or de-identified within 30–90 days after deletion/deactivation (unless required otherwise)
  • Purchase/top-up/transaction records (Shop/Design Market/AI credits): retained for 5–7 years for legal/accounting/tax purposes (necessary fields only; we do not store full card numbers)
  • Sentry diagnostic/error logs: retained for 30–90 days
  • Support tickets: retained for 1–2 years after closure
  • Access and security-related records: retained for 90–180 days

13. YOUR RIGHTS

Depending on applicable law, you may request to:
  • Access your Personal Data
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Delete your Personal Data under certain conditions
  • Restrict or object to certain processing under certain conditions
  • Receive your data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format to move it to another service.
  • Withdraw consent on processing your data.
To submit a request, contact [email protected]. To protect your account, we may request reasonable verification before processing your request.

The Services are not primarily directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
If an educational institution provides the Services to students, the institution should ensure appropriate consent and management measures according to its policies and applicable laws.

15. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

FLUX is located in Taiwan, and our Service Providers may be located in other countries/regions. Your information may be processed in different jurisdictions to provide the Services. We take reasonable measures consistent with applicable law and contractual requirements to protect information.
When we transfer Personal Data from the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK to Taiwan or our subprocessors in other countries (like the USA), we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it.
  • Adequacy: We rely on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for Taiwan for certain data transfers.
  • Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): For transfers to countries without an adequacy decision (such as the USA), we use SCCs approved by the European Commission or other similar documents, which ensure your data is protected to European standards.
